I found a recipe of stuffed paratha over the internet. I don’t remember the
exact recipe but what caught me was that the stuffing was placed in between two chapatis. This made heavy stuffing in one paratha and also very tasty SO I
started trying all the stuffed parathas the same way.
Here goes the recipe.
Ingredients:
For the rotis:
Wheat flour -1 cup
Yogurt – ¼ cup
Water as required
Salt – to taste
For the stuffing :
Big Carrots – 2
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Oil – 1tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Method :
- Add wheat flour, yogurt and salt in a bowl .Knead them soft with required water to make a dough. Keep it aside for 10 mins.
- Meanwhile grate the carrots. Heat oil in a pan and saute the grated carrots.
- Once they are cooked(will not take more than 5 mins) add salt, red chilli powder and garam masala.
- Mix them well in a low flame and keep the stuffing ready.
- Now roll the dough into balls.
- Take a dough ball and spread it with a chapati roller into a medium size. Not too thick, it to be just the normal size.
- Make two of them. Place the prepared carrot mixture on the chapati. Place another chapati on this and seal all the edges.
- If possible try pressing this stuffed chapati once again with the roller by using flour. You could also stop here.
- Now put the stuffed chapati on a tawa. After a min, flip it over and drizzle some oil. Once the chapati is cooked, take it on a serving plate.
- Serve it hot as is or with any raita.
My Notes:
- This procedure can be used with any stuffing as there is no fear of the stuffing coming out or unable to spread the chapati properly.
- We can really add lot of stuffing inside and it is truly heavy. We cannot eat more than two of them.
